This compendium highlights only a few of the community colleges that have effectively developed strong linkages to specific industry clusters. Although we have done a thorough search, this is not an exhaustive compendium. If your college has a program/center that meets the below criteria, we would like to hear from you. Please fill out the form below and send it to us so that we can determine if your program fits within the parameters of the compendium.

Criteria:
  • Be a community or technical college that has developed strong linkages to specialized programs and/or services for specific industry clusters.
  • Have some current elements of specialization to meet cluster needs that may include:
      - certificate and degree programs for critical occupations
      - optional courses that allow occupational programs to relate skills to cluster
      - customized and occupational training programs
      - specialized equipment/technologies or labs
      - faculty that work in the cluster or have recent cluster experience
      - use of special cluster-based industry certifications/skill standards
      - internships, externships, and/or consultancies within cluster
      - advisory boards and participation on cluster councils
      - college facilities devoted to use by the cluster, including incubators and programs aimed at cluster work force and their dependents, such as special counseling.
